The FNB Private Clients Credit Card is a premium card for higher earners who want eBucks rewards, lounge visits and a dedicated private banker.

FNB lists an annual income of R750,000 or more as the requirement. Your limit, rate and approval still depend on a credit and affordability assessment.

Before you apply, it helps to see what the card costs and which of the rewards fit the way you spend.

FNB Private Clients Credit Card: main benefits

  • eBucks rewards. FNB lists up to 15% back in eBucks at Clicks, plus savings on Engen fuel, Netflix and Spotify.
  • Lounge visits. You get up to 20 complimentary SLOW Lounge visits a year, with bonus visits when you book flights through eBucks Travel.
  • Up to 55 interest-free days. This applies on purchases made on your straight facility.
  • Three free extra cards. Three additional cards are included at no cost.
  • Purchase protection. Purchase Protect covers eligible items up to R12,500 per claim.

Who can apply?

You need an income of R750,000 a year or more. Have your South African ID or passport, proof of residence that is less than three months old, and your latest payslip or three months of bank statements ready.

FNB reviews credit and affordability for every application, so meeting the income level does not guarantee approval.

Who may find it useful?

  • Higher earners who already use FNB and eBucks
  • People who shop often at Clicks, Engen or iStore
  • Travellers who will use the SLOW Lounge visits
  • Cardholders who pay the balance in full every month

When another option may be better

The card may not fit if you do not spend enough to earn worthwhile eBucks or you rarely travel. A simpler card with a lower monthly fee can cost less if you skip the premium perks.

Costs to check

FNB lists a R210 monthly account fee and an initiation fee of up to R210. Repayment options include pre-funding, settling in full or paying at least 5% of the balance. Check your interest rate, because carrying a balance is expensive.
